Who Is The Best Tight End In The NFL
A great tight end can easily push any NFL team to the next level. Not only does he enhance the talent of that team, but it pushes the boundaries and makes the offense a lot stronger. The challenge is that it can be hard to find a good tight end these days. Which brings the question, which are some of the top tight end you can find in the NFL right now?
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce is one of the best tight ends of 2022, and he has been at the top for the past 4 seasons. He has the power to always find broken plays, he goes against zone coverage and always gets the job done. Even if he ended up dealing with 274 downs or touchdowns, he continues to be one of the top tight ends and the Kansas City Chiefs are lucky to have him.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas Goedert has become a very good tight end during the last season. He has a 90.7 PFF grade and also managed to lead the group with 2l233 yards per route run. He is a great inline player, he managed to bring in 2x the regular yard per route run that he had in 2021. Dallas Goedert definitely has a stellar run blocking, and that has always been his strength ever since he started doing this in 2018.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Kyle Pitts is a great example of a powerful tight end, despite not having lots of experience. The fact that he was a rookie receiver in 2021 and managed to acquire an 82.3 grade for the reason was amazing. He is a large specimen, sure, but he was able to get 29 amazing receptions over 15 yards. This is a record for any rookie in the PFF, as he surpassed everyone else with 11 receptions. With that in mind, he has great movement skills, although his blocking does need more work. Yet he still is one of the top tight ends at this particular time.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
Like all the other players in this list, Mark Andrews managed to show off his amazing skills with great success during 2021. He had a 91.5 PFF grade for the year, one of the highest grade for tight ends. He is also bringing in very good ball skills, not to mention he can do a lot of difficult grabs too. His contested catch rate and drop rate are very good. Ever since he joined the Baltimore Ravens, he has become a major player for them, and he does a great job as a tight end.
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders
Despite the fact he battled multiple ailments in 2021, Darren Waller was able to still rank high between tight ends. He is an expert at the passing game, and he can easily come in as a receiver too, which is very impressive. It just goes to show the power that Darren Waller brings to the table and how incredible his work has been over the years.
Which is the best tight end?
It can be very difficult to pick a great tight end out of so many different options. But one thing is certain, Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs managed to bring in an amazing score, while also pushing the boundaries when it comes to performance. He’s the top tight end for the season, but we can only expect things to shift during the next season. There’s no denying that the NFL has a lot of great tight end champion contenders, so we are excited to see what the future can bring for them!
