Who does Mac McClung play for in the NBA

McClung finally got his NBA opportunity in March 2023 when he signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Mac McClung has taken an unconventional path to the NBA. After going undrafted in 2021 out of Texas Tech, McClung signed with the Los Angeles Lakers' summer league team.

Although he didn't make the Lakers' roster, McClung's athleticism and exciting style of play generated buzz around the league. He earned the nickname "McClungmania."

In 2022, McClung joined the NBA G League's South Bay Lakers. He averaged 21.7 points per game and won the G League Slam Dunk Contest, showcasing his incredible leaping ability.

McClung finally got his NBA opportunity in March 2023 when he signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He appeared in one game, scoring two points.

Over the summer, McClung again made headlines by winning the 2023 NBA Summer League MVP award. He signed a training camp deal with the Golden State Warriors.

After being waived by the Warriors, McClung was acquired by the Chicago Bulls in October 2023. However, he was again released prior to the regular season.

In January 2024, the Orlando Magic - impressed with McClung's shooting and athleticism - signed him to a two-way NBA contract. He now splits time between Orlando and their G League affiliate.

So after several near-misses, Mac McClung is now a member of the Orlando Magic, looking to make his mark in the NBA. His perseverance and show-stopping athleticism have finally earned him a coveted roster spot.
