Two leading contenders for the NBA GOAT title are Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

According to an anonymous poll conducted by The Athletic, out of 103 players polled, 58.3% believed that Michael Jordan was the greatest player of all time.

Michael Jordan retired in 2003 and has six NBA championships under his belt compared to Lebron James' four NBA championships.

Another notable contender is Magic Johnson who led the Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA championships. Johnson retired in 1996.
