A New Era Begins: Globe Life Field
Globe Life Field, located in Arlington, Texas, is the newest MLB stadium. It opened its doors in 2020 and serves as the home ground for the Texas Rangers. The grand opening of Globe Life Field was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Rangers played the entire 2020 season without fans. However, the park did host that year’s neutral-site National League Championship Series (NLCS) and World Series with a limited number of spectators.
Unique Features of Globe Life Field
The retractable-roof venue replaced Globe Life Park, an open-air stadium that opened in 1994. The new stadium's design ensures games can be played in all weather conditions, providing comfort for both players and spectators.
Globe Life Field: A Host to Historic Events
Despite being the newest stadium, Globe Life Field has already hosted significant events. In its inaugural year, it hosted three playoff series, including the World Series. However, none of these featured the hometown Texas Rangers.
