What determines a score in the NFL

The objective of the game in the NFL is to score more points than the other team.

The team with the ball is called offense.

Here is the breakdown of how points are allotted to each team:

  1. Touchdown - 6 points
  2. Field goal - 3 points
  3. Safety - 2 points
  4. Extra point - 1 point
  5. Two-point conversion - 2 points

Touchdown confers the most number of points and happens when a player advances the ball in the opponent's end zone.
