Commanders Get Ready for the Future with 2024 NFL Mock Draft Selection of Joe Alt

The Washington Commanders signed G/C Nick Gates and RT Andrew Wylie during the 2023 NFL Offseason. They also drafted center Ricky Stromberg and offensive tackle Braeden Daniels in the third and fourth rounds of the 2023 NFL draft as they felt they needed massive improvement on the offensive line.

Despite these moves, many have felt that the offensive line of Commanders needs to be stronger. This is why in a 2024 NFL mock draft from Tankathon, the Commanders are projected to select Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt at number 6.

Alt has been a starting left tackle for the Fighting Irish since his first year. He is the son of former Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle John Alt, who played 13 NFL seasons with the Chiefs and is a member of the Chief's Hall of Fame.

Olu Fashanu of Penn State is anticipated as the top offensive tackle in the 2024 draft. However, if the Commanders end up with Joe Alt, it could be a bold move for a young quarterback who is only 20 years old.
