Are There Any Indian NFL Players
There are currently no Indian football players in the NFL. However, there have been a few players of Indian descent who have played in the league. The most notable examples are Brandon Chillar and Sanjay Beach.
Brandon Chillar
He played linebacker for the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Rams from 2004 to 2010. Chillar was born in California to an Indian father and a Mexican mother. He played college football at UCLA before being drafted by the Packers in the 2004 NFL Draft. Chillar also has the distinction of being the first player of Indian descent to score a touchdown in an NFL game, which he did against Jacksonville in 2005.
Sanjay Beach
Another player of Indian descent who has seen some success in the NFL is Sanjay Beach, who played wide receiver for four seasons for the New York Jets, the Green Bay Packers, and the San Francisco 49ers . Beach was born in Philippines to Indian parents and played college football at Colorado State University. While he never had a breakout season in the NFL, he did catch 17 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown during his four-year career.
Conclusion
With more and more young people of Indian descent playing football at all levels, it's only a matter of time until we see another one in the NFL.
